The application dates for elementary magnet schools and FLAG programs are November 1, 2021 thru January 31, 2022. The applications for 7th grade at Roosevelt STEAM Academy Magnet will also be open from November 1, 2021 thru January 31, 2022. (See below for more information.)

The application dates for Clark Magnet High School are January 10, 2022 thru January 31, 2022.

If you were on the waiting list for the 2021-2022 school year and would like to reapply for the 2022-2023 school year, please complete a new application during the application period.

Roosevelt STEAM Academy Magnet is only accepting applications for 7th grade for the 2022-2023 school year.

If you do not live in the Roosevelt boundaries and want to attend for 6th grade for 2022-2023, you will need to apply for a permit at starting on March 1, 2022.

  • Student is currently enrolled at Franklin in FLAG German program- NO

  • Student lives outside of the Roosevelt attendance area (including students who live outside district boundaries)* - YES
  • Student is currently enrolled at Edison in the FLAG Spanish program - YES
  • Student would like to be assessed to join the FLAG German or Spanish programs at Roosevelt as a 7th grader (and is not currently enrolled in the elementary programs) - YES

* Students who live outside of the Glendale Unified School District can also apply and will need to obtain an interdistrict permit if selected through the lottery.

What are Magnet and FLAG Programs?

GUSD Magnet Schools offer students unique, theme based educational experiences in academically rich and culturally diverse environments.

The Glendale Unified School District (GUSD) offers dual immersion programs in seven languages. The goal is that participating students develop high levels of language proficiency and literacy in both English and the target language.
